Heather Leaverton, DVM

Dr. Heather Leaverton grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin and now lives in Sherwood. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, and a DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.

Dr. Leaverton interned at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in small animal medicine and surgery. She has also practiced at other animal hospitals in Appleton, Kenosha, and Elk Grove, WI. She has a special interest in working with rabbits, ferrets, and other pocket pets.

Dr. Leaverton has many pets — one dog, seven cats, a rabbit, a chinchilla, a snail and a fish. When not at work, she enjoys traveling, swimming, rollerblading, music, and spending time with her husband and children.
